Skin Care Must Haves
For the past few months I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what I use for my daily skin care routine. Overall my skin is on the dry side. The winter months are tough on my skin and I try to use products that will help retain moisture without making me feel too greasy. Here is a list of some of my favorite products that don’t break the bank.
- Neutrogena Make-up remover wipes- The first step in any skin care routine…take off your makeup! I don’t know how many times my friends and family tell me they are too lazy to wash their face at the end of the day. These wipes make make up removal so easy. I have tried other make up remover wipes and liquids and always find myself coming back to these. They are gentle and remove waterproof make up so easily. My skin is pretty sensitive and I always noticed that other wipes would leave this burning sensation on my skin. Neutrogena leaves my skin feeling soft and clean without irritation.
- Neutrogena foaming face wash– Another product that I can not live without. If for some reason the make up wipes don’t get everything this foaming wash definitely will. Its so gentle and doesn’t dry out my skin like other cleansers.
- Pixi Glow Tonic– Toner is probably the most underutilized skin care product out there and I think you’re making a huge mistake if you don’t use it. It helps prepare your skin for your skin care serum and lotions. Its like a primer for your skin care products. This pixi glow tonic is hands down one of my favorites. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and ready to go.
- Dr. G Brightening Peeling Gel– If there is one product you decide to but from this list make it this one. A friend recommended this to me years ago and I still use it. Its very gentle and you will see results right away. You put it on your skin and rub in a circular motion and you it will gently remove the top layer of skin. You will instantly feel the difference in your skin between the areas you use it on and the areas you don’t. It leaves your skin soft, smooth and literally glowing.
- Fresh Sugar Face Polish– I use this twice a week. I received a sample of it and now I’m addicted. All of the fresh beauty skin care products are amazing but if you’re on a budget and only want to splurge on one thing I would highly recommend this scrub. It is an exfoliating scrub that gets rid of all the dead skin and grime that can build up. Since my skin is so dry I sometimes get flaky patches around my jawline and this literally made them disappear. Even though its a scrub it doesn’t feel coarse or harsh on your skin and it will leave your face feeling clean and hydrated.
- Josie Maran Argan Oil Light– I know what you’re thinking “I’m not about to buy a $70 face oil.” Well good news here is a link to the travel size one which is the one I have because well…I travel. The travel one is about $20 but to be honest it lasts forever. I use this after my normal cleansing routine at night to help hydrate my skin. It doesn’t leave a greasy feeling on my skin like a lot of other oils. In the winter when my skin is extra dry I use it in the mornings as well before applying makeup and I get a nice glow.
- CeraVe Facial Moisturizing lotion– I have been using this moisturizer for over 10 years. I still come back to it even after using other high end brands. It doesn’t clog my pores or leave my skin feeling greasy and it has SPF 30 in it so its a win win.
- Mario Badescu Facial Spray – I use this on airplanes all the time. Whenever I fly my skin becomes so dry and irritated. This helps freshen up my face and hydrate it. In the summer if I’m out in the sun I use it to cool me down and reduce irritation. I also use it after applying make up to get a dewy glow. The number of ways you can use it are endless. As an added bonus it smells amazing.
