City of Angels
Hi friends! I just got back from a quick trip to LA and as much as I loved it I don’t think I could handle the traffic situation there. It takes hours to get anywhere and you need to plan your day according to traffic patterns. Once you come to terms with the fact that most of your time will be spent in a car you will realize that LA has a lot to offer.
Food
Every single place that we ate was out of a fairy tale. Here are some of my favorites and trust me the pictures don’t do it justice.
Snow Monster
This place serves Boba tea in a lightbulb with a cotton candy cloud covered in fruity pebbles surrounding it….need I say more?
Mendocino farms
I tried the “Peruvian Beef” sandwich, “Not So Fried Chicken”, and the “Study of Heat.” You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but I would say the Peruvian Beef was my favorite. It just melts in your mouth. The Not So Fried Chicken is a shaved chicken sandwich with fried crispies on top. It gives you the crunch of a fried chicken sandwich without having to consume all that oil. The Study of Heat is great for those of you that love spice.
Candela on la brea
We went here for dinner one night and the street tacos were amazing. Also plenty of great back drops for photo opportunities.
The Griddle Cafe
I still dream about the Nutella stuffed french toast they serve here. So melt in your mouth delicious.
Ritter’s
My brother literally would not let us eat anywhere else the first night we were in LA. I’m glad he insisted on this place because the food was perfection. First we had Ritter’s Famous Chicken Pan Roast. If you’re a fan of Indian/Pakistani food you might notice that this tastes a lot like Butter Chicken. Maybe that’s why I liked it so much. We also had the Famous Gumbo which had a little spicy kick to it.
Cauldron ice cream
We actually stumbled upon this place because it is located right next to Ritter’s. They serve ice cream wrapped in a red velvet waffle. I know, I’m drooling just thinking about it.
Site Seeing
There were so many things on my bucket list for my LA trip but I only had a limited amount of time. I’ll be heading back in August so hopefully I can fit some more things in then. The city has an endless number of activities that will appeal to family members of all ages.
LACMA
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is definitely worth a stop if you have time. You don’t even have to go inside. Do you ever see those pictures of people on IG amidst all the lamp posts? This is where they come to take those shots. We literally double parked right in front of the lamp posts, jumped out of the car, took 15-20 pics and were on our way to our next stop 10 mins later. :p
The Last Book Store
I fell in love with this place. There are two stories and the entire book store is an artistic tribute to literature.
Santa Monica Pier
They have a Ferris wheel, street vendors and a beautiful beach. If you’re not interested in that there is plenty of shopping to do a few blocks away. You can also catch a variety of dancers, singers and artists performing on the streets. Its a great place to take the family on a nice sunny day.
Victoria Beach, Laguna Beach
Have you been searching for the perfect lighthouse to take pictures? Search no further, it’s at Victoria Beach, see below.
Irvine Regional Park
This is another cool spot if you’re doing an engagement photo shoot….or if you’re just trying to take cool pictures for your blog.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
Here I am being a typical tourist, but can you blame me, It’s Muhammad Ali!
Hope you enjoyed my mini tour of LA. More to come in August!
