Barcelona, Spain
Happy Tuesday everyone! I took a quick trip to Barcelona in May 2017 and it has to be one of my favorite cities in Europe. Why did I love it so much? When you walk through the city there are musicians on every corner. There are artists lining the streets and performers that are singing, dancing or performing acrobats in the main square. The food is delicious and the architecture is just fascinating.
Where should I stay in Barcelona?
I stayed in Las Ramblas and I really think it was the perfect place to stay. We were able to walk to nearby restaurants and shops. There is also a food market that is very close by with amazing pastries, fresh juices, desserts and other local specialties.
Where should I go?
I was only there for 2 days so I limited much of my exploration. These are the two places that I made sure I saw in Barcelonoa; Sagrada Familia and Park Guell.
Make sure you buy your tickets in advance for Sagrada Familia if you are going during peak tourist season. The inside is filled with gorgeous stained glass windows.
Park Guell is another favorite spot in Barcelona. There is an area with sculptures and artwork that you need to buy tickets for. The ticket timings are specific and you are granted entry only at the time stated on your ticket. Once you are in the sculpture garden you may stay as long as you like. Make sure you purchase these in advance as well because the last thing you want is to get there and realize that the same day entry tickets are sold out.
The rest of the time I was in Barcelona I just wandered around Las Ramblas. There is so much to do in just that area that you won’t even want to venture out further.
