48 hours in Paris

I am in love with Paris and I can’t wait to plan a trip back. I only really had two full days to explore (which is why I’m only wearing one outfit in most of my pics) but I definitely made the most of it. I booked at room at Le Parisis Hotel and it did not disappoint. The room had a view of the Eiffel tower from my window! Even the little bathroom amenities were high quality. The location was within walking distance to the Eiffel tower and there were plenty of restaurants nearby.

Prior to arriving in Paris I booked a hop on hop off bus pass with Big Bus Paris. I went on this trip with my parents and they tend to get tired fairly quickly so this seemed like the best option. The bus will take you to all the historic sights in Paris and stops at all of the major museums and attractions. They also have headphones so you can listen to a guided tour.

The Top Sights to See in Paris

Eiffel Tower

Does this really require an explanation? Ok fine, it was created in 1889 by Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel for the World’s Fair which marked the 100 year anniversary of the French Revolution. It was initially thought to be an eyesore by critics but now its become a huge attraction. So go see it.

Pyramid de Louvre

You can’t go to Paris and not visit the Mona Lisa. Also buy your tickets in advance, it will save you a lot of time in the long lines.

Arc de Triomphe

Beneath the Arc there is the tomb of the unknown soldier. Every night around 630 PM a flame is lit for him. You can also go to the top of the Arc for a panoramic view of the city for a small fee. The Arc is at the western end of the Champs- Elysees which is one of the most famous avenues in Paris. It is lined with shops, restaurants, cafes and is also the termination point for the Tour De France.

Notre Dame

If you’re into French Gothic architecture or if you’re just interested in posing as Esmerelda…check it out. You can also buy a guided tour in advance for the Cathedral.

Trocadero

Ever wonder where all those proposal pictures and photo shoots with the Eiffel Tower in the background happen? Trocadero offers one of the best views of the Eifferl Tower.

Galeries Lafayette

All of your favorite shops in one place…need I say more?

Grenelle Street Market

Right across the street from our hotel was the rue de Grenelle open air market. It’s open on Wednesdays and Sundays, from 7am to 2:30 pm. We were surrounded by fresh fish, fruits, pastries, breads, clothing and art that was sold by street vendors. This wasn’t even initially on my list by we stumbled upon it when leaving our hotel Sunday morning.

Rue De Grenelle Market

I wish I had more time to explore the city but if you only have two days you can still catch all of the main attractions.
